BACKGROUND
After completing his B. S. and Ph.D. at the University of California, Berkeley, Bonner was on the faculty of the University of Michigan from 1967-1973. From 1973 until his retirement in 2000, he served on the faculty of the Marriott School at Brigham Young University. He also had visiting professor appointments at Stanford University, the University of California, Berkeley, the University of Southern Europe, BirZeit University (Palestine), the University of Jordan, and the Jordan Institute of Diplomacy. During the 1989-90 year he was a visiting scholar at the Brigham Young University Jerusalem Center for Near East Studies. From September, 2001 until June, 2002 he served as the Interim Dean of the Business School at Utah Valley State College.
Bonner and his wife, Lois, have four children, seven grandchildren and reside in Provo, Utah.
AREAS OF EXPERTISE
Bonner is a Consulting Partner with the RBL Group as well as a Professor Emeritus of International Organizational Behavior at the Marriott School of Management at Brigham Young University and a Scholar in Residence at Utah Valley State College.
Bonner’s teaching, research and consulting activities have been in the areas of leadership development, organizational change, conflict resolution, organizational philosophy and ethics. University programs include the University of Michigan, Stanford University, the University of Texas, the University of Oklahoma, McGill University, the University of California, Berkeley, the University of California, Irvine, and BYU. Corporate programs include General Motors, Ford, General Foods, General Electric, Shell Oil, Exxon, Hewlett-Packard, Pacific Telesis, SBC Communications, Citigroup, the Royal Bank of Canada, and the Arab Banking Corporation. Public and non-governmental organizations he as worked with include the Navajo Tribe, Save the Children, the Southern Federation of Cooperatives, the Bangkok Metropolitan Authority, the Jordanian government, the Egyptian Society of Human Resource Development, the Canadian Hospital Association, the Palestinian Authority and the Jordan-U.S. Business Partnership.
His recent efforts have focused on leadership, management and change in the Arab world.
