Chia Weng Lee

BACKGROUND

Weng Lee is one of the few consultants who has consulted and worked across the Total & Service Quality Management and HR fields. He has experience in both consulting and in-house line roles across Banking, Manufacturing, FMCG, Chemicals, BPO and Consulting industries. Prior to launching his own consulting career, he worked in China, where he led and completed the HR integration of two large multinational companies, Pernod Ricard and Allied Domecq. In his regional HR role with ICI Paints Asia Pacific, he was responsible for developing the ICI China College program, a unique program sponsored by the Global CEO to develop the ICI talent pipeline and talent management system in China and Asia. He also led organization development interventions for ICI in the mature Malaysian market and the fast growing Vietnamese market. In consulting roles, he managed CEO-level assessment and placements, developed new businesses and market entry strategies, and created an HR panel that built relationships with key clients to tap their industry expertise.
His representative clients in Asia Pacific include: AstraZeneca, Aviva, China Light and Power, Credit Suisse, DHL, Ciba Specialty Chemicals, Nokia, Molex, Standard Chartered Bank, Development Bank of Singapore, Singapore Press Holdings, Singapore Food Industries, JTC Corporation, CapitaLand Group, and Petronas Malaysia.
Weng Lee has a Masters of Business Administration (specializing in Human Resources Management and Consultancy) from the Maastricht School of Management and a bachelor’s degree in Economics and Psychology from the National University of Singapore.

He has spoken at the HR Summit & HRD Asia conferences in Singapore, the World HRD Congress in India and at the Singapore Institute of Management on the topics of strategic talent acquisition, integrating business and people competencies to deliver business value and retaining talent in turbulent times.
