The Leadership Brand Learning Partnership

October 27-31, 2008, Park City, Utah

Leadership Brand in Brief

Thousands of companies spend millions on leadership development—only to get lukewarm results. Why? They rely on leadership competency models that identify generic traits (vision, direction, energy) without a supportive and systemic leadership architecture. Then they try to find and build next-generation leaders who fit the model. Result? Vanilla managers and executives who aren’t equipped to manage their firm’s unique challenges. There’s a better way. Build a leadership brand: a shared identity among your organization’s leaders that differentiates what they can do from what your rivals’ leaders can do. Brand your firm’s leadership and you deliver unique value for investors, customers, and employees—elevating market value and sharpening your competitive edge.

The Leadership Brand Learning Partnership (LBLP)

Leadership Brand Learning Partnership is an innovative learning experience designed for senior line managers and senior HR professionals responsible for improving the quality of leadership in their organization. Each session is an intensive one-week interactive program involving participant teams from six to eight non-competing and forward-thinking companies. The program splits time between intensive classroom learning and applied learning in the form of a team challenge project. Throughout the program, participants learn and share best practices from each other and from the program faculty. Our globally recognized faculty of Dave Ulrich, Norm Smallwood, Steve Kerr and Dixon Thayer represent a unique balance of thought leadership, real world application and senior line management perspectives. The curriculum is based on years of applied experience about what really works. Over the one-week program, faculty draws from current best practices, empirical research, and their own experience working with top companies to provide a comprehensive view of the leadership field and the impact leadership has on delivering growth objectives, executing strategy, increasing employee, customer and investor confidence and increasing the market value of your company. Central to the program is the leadership challenge project. In advance of onsite sessions, participating teams work with RBL partners to identify a specific project that will have a meaningful impact on the quality and value of leadership for their organization. During the program, company teams receive regular consulting with faculty that ensures project designs are completed by the conclusion of the program.
