For the past twenty years the Human Resource Competency Study (HRCS) has answered the question: What knowledge and abilities are necessary for successful HR professionals? 

Led by Professors Dave Ulrich and Wayne Brockbank, The RBL Group and the Ross School of Business at the University of Michigan recently completed Round 5 of the HRCS with the assistance of global research partners: SHRM, IAE School of Business, IMI, Tsinghua University, AHRI, and the National HRD Network.  Over 10,000 individuals participated in Round 5, making this the largest global study on HR competencies.
