Laura Machaba Abiodun

Laura Machaba Abiodun is a distinguished global executive advisor and board governance expert, as well as a sought-after international speaker on leadership transformation and organizational excellence. Her expertise spans crucial areas such as strategic execution, organizational effectiveness, leadership development, talent management, and building high-performance cultures across diverse international contexts.

Laura's distinctive approach to helping C-suite executives set the tone at the top and navigate complexity has earned her invitations to advise Fortune 500 companies and speak at prestigious international conferences worldwide. She is known for her intuitive, common-sense approach to addressing what she calls "wicked problems" in organizational transformation.

With over two decades of experience, Laura has partnered with boards of directors and senior leaders across multiple industries including Aviation, Life Sciences, Financial Services, FMCG, Healthcare, and Technology. She previously served as a senior partner at EY, where she led the Advisory Portfolio and spearheaded the IBM/EY strategic alliance, significantly growing the consulting practice. Earlier in her career, she served as Group Chief Human Resources Officer and led Shell Oil's Vision 2000 and Scenario Planning as a Marketing Executive.

As a visionary entrepreneur, she founded AMC International Group, which brought the Marriott brand to Africa, and currently serves as a partner at Bioss North America, where she focuses on linking People, Work, and Context to create conditions for organizational flow. Laura has a long-standing association with The RBL Group, collaborating with global teams from Solectron Technologies to Alexander Forbes Group.

Laura holds an MBA in Organizational Behavior (Summa Cum Laude) from Dominican University, an MA in Communication and Training, a Bachelor of Commerce in Accounting and Law, and an Executive Certificate in Organizational Change Leadership from Harvard University. She is a certified independent board member who has served on boards of major media and entertainment companies and revenue services. She currently serves as Chairman of Membership Engagement & Communications for the International Women's Forum (IWF) Carolinas and is a member of Women Corporate Directors.

Beyond her professional accomplishments, Laura is passionate about the philosophy of Ubuntu - the belief that one's humanity is inextricably linked with others. She enjoys tennis and basketball and is married to Christopher, with whom she has two daughters, Sade and Titi.

Her influence extends to global companies and executive boards worldwide, where she continues to help leaders create conditions for others to be successful and organizations to deliver on their promise.
